Inspiration behind original artwork:
Not every connection stays with us in person, some continue to accompany us in quieter ways. Almost Met Again is a reflection on the kind of unspoken that lingers in a soft memory the conversations unfinished, the feelings never fully expressed and the quiet hope that somewhere, in another moment, you might have met again. Presented below are a few poetic fragments from the original poem that inspired this painting:
Almost Met Again
-The Poetic Excerpt
A table set for two just there,
beneath soft blossoms in the air,
Perhaps someone has just slipped away,
as their familiar warmth slowly drifts by.
Or perhaps someone familiar is yet to arrive,
carrying those dreams that have not come alive.
An empty chair waits in silence,
holding memories in hidden tense.
Do you remember the hours we knew?
How the laughter bloomed and grew?
while words turned into what it could be,
with the feelings so unnamed,
quiet truths we never claimed.
Yet this absence is not an empty air,
May be a possibility,
maybe hope is resting there.
For all the unspoken still left to explain,
it holds a chance as if we almost met again.
