Inspiration behind original artwork:

This painting is about standing at the edge of a chapter, carrying a strange tenderness of meeting someone for the last time without realizing it in that exact moment. As the light softens and the tide pulls away, This painting capture that bittersweet space between holding on and letting go. The realization that not every goodbye is a loss. Some are true blessings, arriving to remind us that certain souls are meant to accompany us only part of the way, leaving behind a light that continues to guide us long after they are gone. Presented below are a few poetic fragments from the original poem that inspired this painting:

Luminous Departure

-The Poetic Excerpt

The sky unfolds in amber light,

not mourning the day,

but blessing this night.

and in that glow, I have come to see,

the end of the ending is not leaving me.

The tide leans in, then slips away,

as if it knows what I cannot stay.

I quietly release what once was well known,

not any tears, just old fears that have outgrown.

We are not birds, we don’t circle back,

We are those sails, who must stay on track.

For now, leaving feels less like end,

and more like knock of doors, I’ve yet to send.

To every goodbye begins a new avenue,

for all the journeys that I am yet to pursue.
