Inspiration behind the original artwork:

This painting reflects the enduring relationship between memory and place. Inspired by the feeling of returning to a forgotten corner of oneself, it captures the bittersweet beauty of nostalgia, the passage of time, and the search for belonging. The scene becomes less about a physical location and more about an emotional home carried within us. Presented below are a few poetic fragments from the original poem that inspired this painting:

Somewhere Down the Lane

-The Poetic Excerpt

Beneath blossoms drifting like forgotten dreams,

I found a doorway to those golden evenings.

Leading me back,

to friends on bicycles.

To a world so small,

yet so vast from the start,

wide enough to wander,

close enough to heart.

Now older and wiser,

I belong everywhere.

Yet somehow feel like,

I belong nowhere.

A place that knew, before I could see,

it never really left, it waited there for me.
